Introduction: This cut off Machine is suitable for quick & clean cutting off metallographic specimens from Rods, Tubes or other irregular shapes. General Description and Specifications: This chop type machine having a capacity for cutting samples from 2½” Dia Round or 2” x 2” Sq. stock. It is provided with 10” Dia wheel and normally powered by 5 H.P. 3 Phase electric motor, giving cutting speed of approx 5600 s.f. pm for 10” dia. wheel. The wheel is covered by wheel guard for protection. The clamps are provided on a cast Iron stage, located in a steel trough. A screw feed provides forward movement by means of hand wheel. A motorized pump is fitted on a coolant tank of generous capacity. The coolant is delivered on the cutting surface in jets by means of a twin nozzle which is adjustable while the machine is in operation. It is provided with three stage filtration system incorporated in the machine, which prolongs the use of coolant. The machine is finished in corrosion resistant paint and chrome plating.
